Paper Kingdoms
★★★★☆ 4.0
Paper Kingdoms is a cosy builder with a clever papercraft art style, like your whole town is made of folded cardstock. You lay out roads, houses and little workshops, keep your villagers happy, and slowly watch the place grow. No disasters, no enemies, just steady tinkering.
The management side is light, which some people will love and others might find too thin. I fell into the first camp. After a stressful week I just wanted to rearrange houses and watch tiny paper people walk to work, and this delivered exactly that.
There's an offline progression system so your town keeps ticking while you're away. It never nags you to come back either, which I respect a lot in a game like this.
