Racing
Neon Drift City
★★★★☆ 4.1
Neon Drift City isn't trying to be a serious simulator and that's its charm. It's an arcade drift racer set in glowing night cities, and the whole thing is built around holding slides through corners while a thumping synth track plays. It feels fast even when it isn't.
Controls default to tilt, which worked better than I expected once I turned the sensitivity down. There's a touch-button option too if you hate tilting your phone. Either way the car stays predictable, and drifting feels rewarding rather than random.
The track variety is the weak spot, you'll see the same corners come back around. But the handling is so enjoyable that I kept racing anyway just to beat my own times.
What we liked
- Predictable, satisfying drift handling
- Two control schemes to choose from
- Excellent synth soundtrack
