Legends of Slots

Legends of Slots is one of those games that looks loud at first and then quietly gets its hooks in you. The core loop is spinning themed reels, but what kept me opening it was the collection side. Each board has its own set of symbols tied to a little legend or theme, and filling out a set unlocks the next board. It turns something simple into a steady sense of progress.

Controls are about as clean as mobile gets. One tap to spin, a swipe to switch between boards, and a tidy menu for your collection. I played a lot of it one-handed on the bus and never felt like I was fighting the screen. The animations are snappy and you can speed them up once the novelty wears off, which I appreciated.

What I liked most was the pacing. It never demands a long session. You can do a couple of minutes, see where your collection is at, and close it without feeling like you abandoned something. The art on the later boards is genuinely nice too, with a hand-drawn storybook feel that beat my expectations.
